Cementing Dental Implants - Visalys® CemCore - Featuring Dr. Guus Baakman

Beginning with careful preparations first, Visalys® restorative primer is then applied to improve the effectiveness of the final bond later. If this was a restoration being placed directly on the patient's tooth, our Visalys® self-etching tooth primer would be used on the tooth surface in addition.

After drying, our composite cement is applied to the implant abutment (the metal part that serves as a base for the crown). Visalys® CemCore offers a selection of 5 shades, but here, Dr. Baakman has selected 'Opaque' for a perfect aesthetic to mask the metal abutment under the crown.

Next the restoration needs to cure. This is the phase where the material and the restoration bond and become rigid. Visalys® CemCore's Active-Connect-Technology (ACT) provides doctors guaranteed top bond-strength with the choice to either use a special UV-light to tack cure the materials as seen in the video, or allow them to chemically self-cure after a short duration of about 5 minutes for sites where light access is not available. Unlike other sticky composite cements, after curing Visalys® CemCore can be literally peeled away for easy removal of excess cement.

Dr. Baakman finishes by performing adjustments to the final restoration. These last adjustments will ensure our patient will not only be satisfied with the results of their new smile, but just as important, comfortable.
