Dry and Moist Dentin: Understanding the Differences Video
When we place a product on top of the dentin surface, we need to understand the tolerance level to moisture. For example, TheraCal is a product that requires dentin to be moist. Moist dentin looks like it is glistening, it is shiny, and necessary for TheraCal to form a strong bond. Products like TheraCem however, require the dentin to be dry. In this case, the surface looks as though it has a matte finish, forming a good chemical bond. You must understand the differences to achieve a strong bond.
