Solea’s CO2 laser operates at a unique wavelength of 9.3 µm and has sophisticated, yet simple, computer controls that enable high-speed, precision cutting on both hard and soft tissue. As the first Computer Aided Preparation laser system in dentistry, Solea’s 9.3 µm beam is optimized by galvos—computer-controlled motors that move mirrors inside the handpiece. The mirrors manipulate the beam thousands of times per second, creating patterns that are ideal for any tissue being cut: enamel, dentin, or soft tissue. In addition to being fast and precise, the Solea laser is free of vibration, virtually noiseless, and anesthesia-free for the majority of procedures, which helps reduce patients’ pain and anxiety. With a familiar handpiece and an easy-to-navigate touch screen, Solea also offers a unique variable speed foot pedal. Simple to use, Solea is the only CO2 hard-tissue laser available and can be mastered in a single day. Solea’s computer controls facilitate an easy transition from the drill and can replace the need for drills in a vast majority of procedures.
