Two clinicians trust that EXACTA Core MFT and EXACTA Temp Xtra will help them produce durable restorations efficiently and predictably
EXACTA Temp Xtra
EFFICIENCY MEETS DURABILITY
Dr. Turik relies on EXACTA Temp Xtra in his Kenly, NC, practice to produce durable provisionals quickly and efficiently. While the material is strong enough for long-span bridges, Dr. Turik mainly uses it for single crowns. He pointed out several qualities that contribute to a quick temporary crown fabrication time.
“It has a quick setting time, easy handling properties, and very good polishing qualities,” he noted. He also complimented the material’s “several shades, very little mess, and reasonable price,” and, perhaps most importantly, said, “We have not had any failures with EXACTA Temp Xtra.”
IMPRESSIVE ESTHETICS
Dr. Jaskiel uses EXACTA Temp Xtra for single-unit posterior restorations (molars and premolars) and for splinted units when extra stability is required. Appreciating the material’s efficiency, he said, “Its mixing, handling, working, and setting times were very, very good compared to many other materials.” He also reported “simple trimming, finishing, and cleanup” and said, “The material did not attach or grab onto the tooth much, providing reassurance that the restoration would not lock in.”
Noting that “the esthetics and shade-matching capabilities of EXACTA Temp Xtra are impressive,” Dr. Jaskiel explained, “It is not too opaque and has a nice, natural-looking translucency with almost no polishing needed.” In cases where adjustments were made with a bur, he said, “It polished very nicely with just a composite polishing wheel.”
Although he hasn’t had a chance to assess the long-term durability of EXACTA Temp Xtra, Dr. Jaskiel said, “The material stands up well and does not break easily.”
