It’s no surprise that Nobel Biocare consistently earns top honors in the Implants category of the DPS Readers’ Choice survey every year—clinicians have long trusted the company as a pioneer and partner in implant dentistry. From engineering the first dental implants to advancing digital workflows and full-arch solutions, they’ve helped shape the future of modern implant care.

Redefining Full Arch

Key to that mission is the All-on-4 treatment concept—a full-arch solution that redefines what’s possible for edentulous patients. It’s the cornerstone of Dr. Joe Mehranfar’s busy implant practice in Phoenix, AZ, where he completes about 300 All-on-4 cases every year.

“Patients care about their experience, so we want to reduce their anxiety and maximize their benefits,” Dr. Mehranfar said. After he performs surgery using Nobel Parallel conical connection implants, a 3D-printed provisional is delivered to the patient the very next day.

“The patient returns 2 weeks later, and we make sure they’re comfortable, speaking properly, and that the vertical dimension and occlusal scheme are aligned,” Dr. Mehranfar added. Four months later, the patient’s smile design is finalized for a NobelProcera zirconia implant bridge.

Simplifying the Osteotomy Procedure

Recently put to the test in a DPS product review, the Nobel Biocare N1 system earned high scores from evaluating clinicians for its minimally invasive de-sign, which allows for atraumatic site preparation. The system includes OsseoShaper instruments, which reduce hard tissue trauma thanks to low-speed drilling and no need for irrigation.

“What I appreciate most about the N1 system is the surgical efficiency and precision it offers,” Dr. Michael Hartman shared. “The novel drill design allows for highly efficient bone preparation, reducing heat and improving control during osteotomy creation.”

The abutments feature a Xeal surface, which optimizes soft tissue integration and promotes long-term tissue health and stability, while the implant’s trioval conical connection alleviates stress on the cortical bone during placement and promotes faster osseointegration.

“The implant places smoothly and accurately, with an ideal thread design that provides excellent primary stability," Dr. Hartman added. “These features contribute to a predictable and satisfying surgical experience.”

A Partner in Implant Success

Each year, over 14,000 dental professionals advance their skills through Nobel Biocare's expert-level implant training.

“I stay with Nobel because they’re the pioneers,” noted Dr. Mehranfar. “All the literature is based on their work. Their process is incredible—every part, every component is dialed into microns, and their products don’t go to market unless they meet certain requirements.”
