A quick scan of the dental marketplace confirms what everyone already knows: Ergonomic instruments are a "must-have" for dentists, and there’s an abundance available. An equally sought-after option are those manufactured to meet the highest quality standards in the world. But finding instruments that hit both of those marks can be a challenge. With the launch of the Midwest T1 Energo, Dentsply Sirona can consider that challenge met—and then some.

Ergonomics & Efficiency

With a lighter weight, lower noise, and a “Made in Germany” enhanced gear design, the Midwest T1 Energo is packed with the benefits dentists need for a smooth and efficient workflow, and that includes Chris Campbell, DMD, an Energo customer and a key opinion leader for Dentsply Sirona.* Having brought the new handpiece into his practice a few months ago, Dr. Campbell now relies on it for operative procedures, crown and bridge work, and everything in between.

“Electric handpieces provide a superior level of consistent torque and smooth operation,” he shared. “With this handpiece, those benefits are greatly enhanced. I do a lot of in-office milling, and the smoothness of my preparations is remarkable. It’s led to even more precisely fitting restorations. The preparations are exquisite!”

Among the lightest in its class of handpieces, the Midwest T1 Energo features an improved hand shape and an easy-to-grasp grip for comfortable and precise work. It requires 40% less force to open the chuck, while an upgraded fiber-optic glass enhances illumination up to 40 kLux for a brighter work area.**

No More Hand Fatigue!

“This handpiece is considerably lighter and has a very nice balance and feel to it. I have had little to no hand fatigue after a busy day of patient care. I love that the bur extends farther out of the handpiece, which allows for easier access to deeper preps. The increased bur length and the smaller head size are game changers, especially with second molars."

Safe Head Technology utilizes a double-wall cap to minimize heat transfer for patient safety. A new gear design reduces internal vibrations and a 4x2 nozzle spray system† reduces spray and bur sound.

“This handpiece offers great balance and feel, as well as enhanced patient comfort due to less noise. Not only is the overall level of noise less, but the pitch of the noise is much more pleasant to the ear—it’s much less ‘shrill’ than other handpieces I’ve used over the last 25 years,” Dr. Campbell added.
