Treatment Planning the Edentulous Arch

An overview of the theory and criteria necessary for the Dental Team to decide when to restore the edentulous arch with a fixed detachable, overdenture bar, or overdenture stud prostheses. Learn what information is necessary for treatment planning, such as smile line, dexterity, and more. When and why fixed detachable, fixed removable, overdenture bars, and overdenture studs are indicated and contraindicated. How to communicate this with the patient and educate them on the benefi ts of different restorative options.

 

Implant-Supported Full Arch Fixed Treatment Options

Treatment options covered will be Fixed Detachables with both Titanium and Ceramic Suprastructures, Fixed Detachable with Precision Angled Screw Channels, Fixed Removable, and the new revolutionary Locator FT-x fixed option that does not utilize screws or cement. Review of available attachment systems for fi xed full arch prostheses. Selection of attachments based on patient  parameters. Use of attachments and clinical/laboratory procedures to restore two to eight implants using fi xed full arch therapy.

 

Implant-Supported and -Retained Full Arch Removable Treatment

Treatment options covered will be Overdenture Bars, such as Hader, Plunger Loc, Sagix, and Locator as well as Overdenture Studs, such as Locator RT-x, Clix, Locator, ORings, and Magnets. Review of available attachment systems for overdenture therapy to simply and successfully restore implant supported prostheses. Selection of attachments based on patient parameters. Use of attachments and clinical/laboratory procedures to restore two to eight implants using overdentures. Review pitfalls and how to avoid them.

 

 

Ways Fiber Can Benefit the General Practice

Not a month goes by that I am not grateful I keep fiber in my standard armamentarium. Our discussion will review the standard procedures that various fibers are designed to be used for such as: denture repairs, splinting teeth and temporary and permanent resin bonded bridges. We will also review how understanding and having fibers available has benefited my practice in ways I did not  predict. You will learn to utilize various fibers for chairside denture repairs. Understand fibers benefits in emergency uses. Be better positioned to utilize fibers for restorative purposes. Understand some of the basic principles of fibers to determine additional uses in your practice.
