ClearCorrect: A Clear Choice for Clear Aligner Therapy
New material and software upgrades from ClearCorrect give dentists a chance to better pilot their clear aligner cases while increasing patient compliance
While tens of thousands of dentists have used ClearCorrect over the past 15 years to deliver clear aligner therapy to their patients, recent upgrades to aligner material and web-based treatment software have taken ClearCorrect clear aligner treatment to the next level.
The Toughest Tri-Layer Material Around
ClearQuartz is ClearCorrect’s 3rd-generation, state-of-the-art material that has 3 layers: two outer shells that are tough and have low porosity, and an elastic inner layer. The low porosity of the tough outer layers minimize staining, while the inner layer's elasticity reduces stiffness and provides more comfort for the patient. The aligner material is more durable because the elastic layer absorbs excess forces and reduces the likelihood of cracks or tears.
“Since doing cases with the new ClearQuartz mate-rial, I have witnessed incredible results, and the patient response has been overwhelmingly positive,” shared Dr. Jeff Briney. “Although I never had negative feedback about the previous material, the patients that got to experience both materials made comments about how much more comfortable the new aligners were.
”Optimized for clarity, ClearQuartz is designed for more predictable force application and better adaptation to the teeth. “I have now completed 25 to 30 cases that started and ended with ClearQuartz with not one revision,” said Dr. Briney.
Pilot Your Clear Aligner Cases
ClearCorrect's ClearPilot web-based software is designed to give dentists a deeper understanding of their clear aligner cases—every step of the way. “I have used the term ‘Full Throttle Treatment Planning’ when talking about ClearPilot,” added Dr. Briney. “You really are the pilot of this software—completely in control—once you enter the web-based ClearPilot program, everything is right in front of you.
”That includes a 3D treatment setup simulation of the planned aligner therapy; patient photos, radiographs, and prescriptions; treatment overview with the ability to communicate with the technician; and a movement chart per tooth at each stage and over the complete course of treatment.
"Additionally, multiple tools are available to evaluate the patient's treatment—including a superimposition tool that allows me to view overlays of tooth movements at each stage compared with the original position," said Dr. Briney.
Because ClearPilot is a web-based program, Dr. Briney can send a link for patients to view their case and monitor progress at each stage. "I use this as motivation for the patient to stay compliant on their wear times and aligner changes," he said. "Having the final result in clear sight keeps them excited.
