DS Core: Providing the Power to Do More
The new DS Core cloud-based platform seamlessly integrates with devices, services, and technologies in the practice, bringing improved efficiency to workflows from diagnosis to treatment
While many dental technologies serve an important role in the practice, they don’t necessarily do so as a team. Adopted in increments over time, much of the equipment fails to integrate with other technologies in the office. That is, until now. Dentsply Sirona has unveiled a powerful new solution that connects technologies and makes workflows easier for dentists.
DS Core is a cloud-based software platform that seamlessly connects Dentsply Sirona equipment and is accessible across multiple devices. Developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, DS Core integrates the whole workflow of digital dentistry—across equipment, services, and technologies, while creating easier ways for dentists to work collaboratively with labs, partners, and specialists.
“This is making a very big stride for dentistry as a whole, because clearly we have a track record of strong products, but the struggle has been to bring them together in a broader context that makes them easier to utilize together,” Cord Staehler, Chief Technology Officer at Dentsply Sirona, said during an interview with Dental Product Shopper at Dentsply Sirona World in Las Vegas.

Practitioners can use DS Core to store different types of patient files, making them accessible from multiple locations, while collaborating with partners and colleagues outside their practice. DS Core supports GDPR and HIPAA-compliant file sharing and cloud storage for patient case files.

A Few Clicks to Expert Designs
To help dentists get the most out of digital dentistry, DS Core Create, a new service within DS Core, provides access to high-quality expert designs that are tailored for each patient’s needs across a broad range of indications with just a few clicks. Clinical indications include night guards and splints, temporary restorations, CEREC guides, custom impression trays, and models.
By delegating the CAD workflow to a DS Core Create lab, and not operating the design software in the practice, dentists can save valuable time. The service integrates smoothly with Dentsply Sirona’s new Primeprint 3D printer and is expected to grow in the future.
Seamless Service and Support
DS Core Care is an integrated and easy-to-understand equipment service and support solution that harmonizes equipment with service offerings to provide a seamless customer experience. This helps to increase equipment uptime and give dentists peace of mind so that they can focus on their patients.
Lowering the Barrier
Introduced at Dentsply Sirona World, Primescan Connect is the new laptop configuration of the successful intraoral scanner, Primescan, which came onto the market in 2019. The new solution delivers all the benefits of the cart-based Primescan for a lower investment, making it an easy starting point in digital dentistry.
Primescan Connect fosters collaboration with any lab and can be used for digital workflows such as restorative indications, implantology, orthodontics, and sleep appliances. Through the Connect Case Center, a digital ordering system, dentists can transfer digital orders to the lab of their choice within seconds.
“It’s got the same scanning technology, all of the precision, speed, and everything that people love about the Primescan in this connected variant, and you can send your cases to your lab, which has the highest level of data,” Arjan de Roy, Group Vice President Global Head of Commercial Dental Labs, Dentsply Sirona, said at Dentsply Sirona World.
“It’s just entering the market today and it is a real breakthrough.”
