As a DPS evaluator in practice for over 20 years, Dr. Abraham Jaskiel knows what works—and what doesn’t. After using dozens of universal composites in his Miami, FL, dental office, his mission to find a material with predictable strength, superior handling properties, and natural-looking esthetics was still not quite fulfilled.

But when Dr. Jaskiel met Quantium—a universal composite that BISCO spent years perfecting—it exceeded his expectations on every level.

Versatility That Adapts

A versatile, light-cured material that pairs strength and beauty with exceptional handling and placement, Quantium allows clinicians to create highly functional and esthetic restorations.

Available in 4-g syringes or 0.25-g unit-dose capsules, Quantium combines smooth, nonsticky handling with low volumetric shrinkage to minimize microleakage and maximize marginal adaptation.

One of Quantium's standout features is its unique ability to be used as a packable composite at room temperature and a flowable when heated.

"Quantium is a very versatile material for front or back teeth,” said Dr. Jaskiel. "It works very well and becomes softer to handle when warmed. I can use it in deeper sections and know that it will flow into the small crevices," he explained. When more viscosity is needed, he's able to "pack it nicely” at room temperature.

Natural Esthetics in 4 Shades

Dr. Jaskiel was most impressed with Quantium’s optimal esthetic qualities, which allow him to layer enamel and body shades for natural-looking restorations. With 4 options—A2 and A3 in both enamel and body shades—the composite can be applied as a single shade or layered using multiple shades.

“Composites with 1 shade can be too opaque, so I really like that Quantium has enamel and body shades,” shared Dr. Jaskiel. “The body shade is not too opaque, and the enamel shade gives it a bit of depth. One of its biggest advantages is having that enamel shade, which can be layered on top of the opaque shade to give it a natural effect. This is especially important for anterior esthetics." Additionally, he noted, “It polishes really well, and I like that it is radiopaque for X-rays.”

Opacity, Translucency, and Strength

Eager to continue using Quantium in his daily routine at Brickell Avenue Cosmetic & Holistic Dentistry, Dr. Jaskiel proclaimed, “Quantium can fit well into any restorative workflow because it has the opacity for blocking, the translucency to look natural, and the nanohybrid technology for strength.”
