Progressive, forward-thinking, innovative, superior—the synonyms for “advanced” go on and on. And each is what you can expect from Henry Schein Products’ Maxima family of handpieces and small equipment, including the Maxima Advanced MA210 Ultrasonic Cleaner, Maxima Turbo Class B Sterilizer, and Maxima Advanced Chamber Sterilizer. By the way, “maxima” (from maximum) means “the greatest or highest attained.” You get the picture.

Durability and Ease of Use

Formerly known as Maxima PowerClean, the Maxima Advanced MA210 Ultrasonic Cleaner offers dental offices quiet operation, 5-minute (for 1 layer of loose instruments) to 10-minute (for 2 layers) cleaning times, and a 3-year warranty. Plus, the compact cleaner fits easily into tight spaces, and its 2.1-gallon tank accommodates 2 large cassettes or up to 4 small.

“What’s really nice [about the Maxima Advanced MA210 Ultrasonic Cleaner] is having that quicker operation,” Dr. Susie Worm said. “My older unit had the 1 option no matter the load size. So, I do love that if I only have 1 layer, I can do it in 5 minutes, which is just really quick.”

Dr. Worm was equally impressed with the unit’s durability, saying, “Not only will it clean quicker, but I’m also confident it will hold up over time.”

Quick and Easy

At her Lincoln, NE, practice, Canyon Echo Dental, Dr. Worm also uses Henry Schein’s Maxima Turbo Class B Sterilizer, which she describes as “much quicker than what I’ve used before. I also like that it shows on the face where it’s running in the cycle. It’s super easy to use and came at a great price.”

The sterilizer’s standout features include a cycle time that’s 4 times faster than standard autoclaves, 1-click operation, portability and stackability, and an easy-to-read digital display. The unit also comes with a built-in USB port and an emergency sterilization mode. For use in true emergency situations, users can employ a 7-minute cycle that quickly sterilizes unwrapped instruments.

New Member of the Family

Dr. Christopher T. Pawelek is impressed with the newest addition to Henry Schein’s Maxima family—the Maxima Advanced Chamber Sterilizer. “We’ve been very happy with it,” he said. “It’s the right size, and maintenance is quite easy.”

With a focus on efficiency, the unit features dynamic pulsed air removal to support thorough sterilization and a closed-door, vacuum-assisted drying system. Both features eliminate excess moisture for completely dry instruments. And if practices follow instructions for use and maintenance, they can count on a remarkable lifespan of 28,000 cycles.

Dr. Pawelek and the rest of his practice team are especially impressed with the size of the unit’s trays—an 11-inch chamber fi ts 4 trays with room for 18 pounds of instruments.

“Our previous sterilizer had 2 large-sized trays and 2 smaller ones,” he said. "With the Maxima Advanced Chamber Sterilizer, we can fi t at least a quarter more instruments than we could in the past.”

Smooth and Quiet

Clinicians look for several important features when selecting a handpiece: smooth operation, the ability to maneuver easily, the least amount of noise possible, and longevity. According to several Dental Product Shopper evaluators, the Maxima Advanced Highspeed Handpiece delivers on all counts.

“Smooth and quiet,” Dr. James Snowsaid. “No bouncing or vibrating.” Another evaluator, Dr. Christina Tran, described the handpiece as offering “improved cutting and speed compared to previous handpieces. It allowed me to prep faster and decrease the amount of time the patient is in the chair.”

The Maxima Advanced Highspeed Handpiece offers users 35% more cutting power and 12% quieter operation compared to previous models.* In addition, the 97°head angle aids access to the posterior, while Active-Stop technology allows the handpiece, as described by Dr. John Jackfert, to “stop on a dime to prevent iatrogenic damage to the tongue, mucosa, and teeth.”

Henry Schein continues to support dental teams with products that exceed expectations when it comes to ease of use, durability, and efficiency.

Ultimately, the Maxima family helps practices meet the needs of their patients and deliver successful outcomes.
