Waterline Treatment Category Spotlight: Monarch Lines Cleaner

Monarch Lines CleanerAlthough waterlines in a dental practice run behind the scenes and may be out of sight, they cannot be out of mind. Regular waterline maintenance is essential to protect lines and equipment, but more importantly, it protects a practice’s most valuable asset—its patients.

Monarch Lines Cleaner from Air Techniques features a proven formula to treat waterlines, control microbial contamination, and help keep patients safe. The ready-to-use solution cleans waterlines of pressurized independent water delivery systems, with no mixing or diluting necessary. It combines the shock and maintenance treatment into one bottle for fast, effective, and efficient application. According to Dr. Jeffrey Briney, “every dental practice should be using Monarch Lines Cleaner,” which is “an extremely economical solution, especially considering the importance of safety for our patients.”

The full-strength solution attacks accumulated deposits in tubing lines to help protect lines and equipment without the use of harsh or aggressive chemicals. The pH-neutral formula is noncorrosive and gentle on equipment; it will not corrode metals, clog valves, or cause staining or foaming. “Monarch Lines Cleaner helps maintain safe bacteria levels in the waterlines, and it doesn’t wear away the lines like sodium hypochlorite,” noted Dr. Edward Lew.

Monarch Lines Cleaner removes biofilm containing odor-causing bacteria from dental unit waterlines and leaves a fresh mint fragrance behind. The biodegradable, glycerin-free cleaner is ready to use straight from the bottle and is poured directly into the independent water bottle system. After an initial 3-week daily protocol, Monarch Lines Cleaner is used weekly or monthly, depending on the water source. The weekly or monthly cleaning protocol replaces the need for a daily water cleaning tablet, and one 500-mL bottle can treat a single operatory for up to several months.

“Monarch Lines Cleaner increases our confidence and comfort level by providing clean water to our patients through every waterline,” added Dr. Briney. “This product will forever be in my weekly routine for waterline maintenance.”

A Colorful Way to Clean

In addition to Monarch Lines Cleaner, Air Techniques offers a full line of Monarch infection control solutions. To promote safety and make it easy for dental team members to choose the right product for the job, Monarch cleaners are color-coded by category—yellow for equipment, green for surface disinfectants, pink for hand protection, and blue for instruments.
