PANAVIA Cements
It’s a given that most cements likely accomplish their main purpose—they stick and stay—but the dozens of cements available to dentists today each differ in handling characteristics, thickness, and cleanup. And those seemingly little details can have a not-so-little effect on your restoration.
The PANAVIA family of cements from Kuraray Noritake includes PANAVIA SA Cement Universal, PANAVIA V5, and the recently launched PANAVIA Veneer LC. All 3 cements are highly esthetic and easy to use, while offering strength, stability, superior handling, and effective adhesion.

The latest member of the PANAVIA line of cements is PANAVIA Veneer LC, a light-cure resin cement with excellent color stability, high wear resistance, ample working time, and easy cleanup.
“PANAVIA Veneer LC is not too thick and not too runny, which makes it ideal for all types of veneers— from ultra-thin materials to traditional types,” said Craig Goldin, DDS, in Troy, MI.
A DPS Best Product award recipient, PANAVIA Veneer LC features nanocluster spherical filler technology for exceptional application and cleanup, as well as excellent polishability and gloss retention to support esthetic margins over time. Kuraray Noritake’s original MDP monomer allows for excellent adhesion to both enamel and restorative materials.
Two Monomers, One Cement
Also garnering a DPS Best Product award is PANAVIA SA Cement Universal, a self-adhesive resin cement that offers a single-step bond to virtually every restorative material. A true dual-cure resin cement, PANAVIA SA Cement Universal contains the LCSi monomer for adhesion to virtually every material, including glass ceramics, without the need for a separate primer. The cement delivers a strong, durable chemical bond to porcelain, lithium disilicate, and composite resin. The original MDP monomer is also present in the paste, allowing for chemical reactiveness with zirconia, dentin, and enamel.
Strength and Esthetics
PANAVIA V5 is Kuraray Noritake’s strongest dentin bonding cement and is also a recipient of the DPS Best Product award. PANAVIA V5 comes in 5 color-stable shades with matching try-in pastes for predictable, highly esthetic crowns, bridges, and veneers. A dual-cure, fluoride-releasing universal resin cement, the MDPbased tooth primer offers a high bond strength to hydroxyapatite, metals, composites, and zirconia in the self-cure mode because of a unique catalyst technology. For Joseph G. Willardsen, DDS, in Las Vegas, NV, a longtime user of Kuraray Noritake restoratives, PANAVIA V5 is his go-to-cement for full and partial coverage in direct restorations.
