CamX Triton HD: Caries Detection Ideal for the General Practitioner
Interchangable head system allows for quick and easy change between caries diagnosis and intraoral imaging
Find out why Dean Glasser, DDS, believes that the CamX Triton HD:
• Provides for an accurate diagnosis and seamless patient presentation
• Is ideal for the general practitioner, pediatric dentist, and orthodontist
In an ever-changing, technologically driven profession, dentists have been continuously challenged in their ability to accurately diagnose carious lesions that have reached the dentinoenamel junction (DEJ).
Clinical experience and radiographic analysis have been the bellwether in diagnosis, often leading to false positives and false negatives with borderline carious lesions. Fortunately, current technology has produced a fluorescent illumination technique that can aid the clinician in the diagnosis between E-1 and D-3 dental lesions. We can now conclusively diagnose lesions that were once deemed questionable.
Quantitatively, we have found that the caries detection component of the CamX Triton HD is accurate with regard to diagnosis and severity of the lesion.
Qualitatively, the clarity and autofocus of the CamX Triton’s intraoral camera and caries detection are of excellent quality. Air Techniques’ user-friendly hardware/software and its application provide for an accurate diagnosis and seamless patient presentation. Caries and plaque filters in the imaging software allow for the accurate diagnosis by means of a color scale and numeric evaluation. The high resolution of the CamX Spectra intraoral head is optimal for the purpose of visualizing hard-tosee areas in the mouth. With a field of view ranging from full arch to single tooth, the CamX Triton is ideal for visualizing endodontic canals, hairline fractures, and failing restorations. The snap-on, interchangeable heads allow the user to quickly convert from intraoral photography to caries detection. With the provision of an 8 mm spacer, the CamX Triton can consistently produce images that are reproducible at follow-up visits. The speed of the autofocus and capture button allows for a rapid, noninvasive analysis for tooth decay.
The CamX Triton caries detection aid is ideal for the general practitioner, pediatric dentist, and orthodontist.
At the adult and pediatric level, dentists no longer need to rely on clinical experience alone in the treatment of patients unable to tolerate conventional radiographs. At the orthodontic level, the ability for practitioners to detect and refer incipient carious lesions back to the referring dentist would allow for the earliest diagnosis and treatment of dental decay. From an educational standpoint, the CamX Triton is a powerful tool in its ability to visually present and motivate patients to proceed with needed treatment.
Maximization of the doctor-patient relationship is a critical component of practice management, patient retention, and future patient referrals.
The CamX Triton has bridged an important gap between patient understanding, acceptance of diagnosis and treatment options, and the doctor’s ability to provide complete and comprehensive care.
