When it comes to figuring out the ROI of digital intraoral radiography, the return occurs when you see how effectively and efficiently your team is working as a result of the adoption. Because image clarity is the most cited technical factor for quality imaging, outstanding image resolution is essential for defining edges and for identifying caries and other defects. Schick 33’s industry-leading image quality can make substantial improvements in diagnosis and patient acceptance, and help change the way you and your patients see your entire practice.
New Office, New Sensors
Back in 2006, I was in the process of building and outfitting a new facility, and we had made the decision to go 100% digital with all of our equipment. We became chart-free with computers in every operatory, using digital panorex, digital impressioning and, of course, digital x-ray sensors. I was not going to have a dark room and be developing chemicals in my new state-of-the-art dental office, so when we looked into the Schick intraoral sensor, we found a product that offered excellent image quality and seamless integration with our practice management software.
Start With Schick
We originally purchased the Schick CDR sensors in 2006. I looked at all the different sensors on the market at the time and felt very comfortable going with the Schick Technologies line. The company had a long history of innovating and their sensors were superior to everything on the market at that time. Schick CDR produced superior image quality compared to film. When the Schick Elite sensors came to market, I quickly upgraded and took advantage of improved image quality and detachable cables, making any repairs much easier. We are now using the latest generation of sensors, Schick 33. These provide a noticeable improvement to an already great line of sensors. The images are very crisp and the enhancement tools in the software give us unparalleled diagnostics.
Fast, Efficient, and Effective
We value the clarity of the images taken above everything else. Because Schick 33 works so well with our software program, we can use enhancement features such as zoom, contrast, and colorize that make diagnosis easier and more precise. With less radiation exposure to the patient, the sensors are very fast, and we have immediate feedback on our computer monitors. This results in better efficiency, patient satisfaction, patient education, and case acceptance.
Workhorse Sensor
Schick 33 sensors have certainly exceeded our expectations and provided our office with everything needed in an x-ray sensor. The images are very sharp, the tools are easy to use, and they enhance our diagnostics. The sensors are essentially plug-and-play, making integration simple. We run 7 clinical rooms and share only 3 sensors, so they are used heavily day to day. They’ve proven to be a workhorse, with zero issues since day one.
