Lime-Lite Enhanced

A light-cured base/liner with a moisture-friendly formula, great adhesion, long-term durability, and bioactive properties that help minimize post-op sensitivity

Deciding which restorative dental materials to purchase for your practice can seem like an overwhelming task, especially in this era of information overload. Somehow you need to narrow down the options to a reasonable number, hoping to find that perfect composite or adhesive system that stands out from the pack. In the cavity liner category, Dr. Joseph Lichter found ‘the one’ in Pulpdent’s Lime-Lite Enhanced, a reliable light-cured liner and base with great adhesion, long-term durability, and bioactive properties that virtually eliminate postoperative sensitivity.

A Versatile Liner & Base

For years, Lime-Lite Enhanced has been Dr. Lichter’s go-to liner/base for a variety of restorative procedures. “My number one reason for choosing this material is that it minimizes a patient’s complaint of post-op sensitivity,” he said. “The moisture-friendly, light-cured formula works well for lining deep cavities prior to placing composite restorations. I like the ability to control the material, which is thick enough to flow where you want it but not too flowable.”

Dr. Lichter also uses Lime-Lite Enhanced when he’s “near the pulp and trying to insulate the pulp from the actual restoration to minimize degeneration of the pulp and post-op sensitivity. The material coats the pulp or insulates it from the irritation that a pulp will have when placing a restoration, whether it’s composite or amalgam.”

To use Lime-Lite as a base, Dr. Lichter said, “It can be thickened by adding more material, and it can also be applied in layers and incrementally cured, which helps protect dental tubules and prevent sensitivity.”

Lime-Lite Enhanced is a durable material with high compressive strength and wear resistance, according to Pulpdent, and its shock absorbing properties resist fracture or crumbling. “It seems to last and does not leak or wash out like some materials. You have to physically drill it out if you need to remove the material. I have not had any fractures or crumbling of the material in all the years I’ve used it,” noted Dr. Lichter.

Bioactivity & No Post-Op Sensitivityprotect patients with lime-lite

Lime-Lite Enhanced is formulated with calcium, phosphate, and fluoride-releasing properties and contains no Bisphenol A, Bis-GMA, or BPA derivatives. “The bioactive properties in Pulpdent’s Lime-Lite and ACTIVA lines are definitely important to me,” shared Dr. Lichter. “It’s nice that these materials remineralize teeth and minimize recurrent caries.”

According to Dr. Lichter, one of the biggest issues that dentists face is post-op sensitivity from a simple filling, which is why he relies on Lime-Lite Enhanced to eliminate sensitivity and ensure that each patient has a positive dental experience.

Lime-Lite Enhanced is available in a kit with four 1.2-mL syringes or in a 3-mL syringe with applicator tips. This liner and base “results in a good restoration and a satisfied patient experience,” noted Dr. Lichter, who said he has successfully using Lime-Lite “for years with no complaints of post-op sensitivity.”
