Sealing the Deal with Embrace WetBond

A user-friendly sealant with remarkable sealing ability and adaptation to tooth structure for a successful seal

Jenna Hebert, RDH, uses sealant on the majority of her practice’s pediatric patients. She finds that choosing a product that works well is especially crucial for younger patients, becausepulpdent embrace wetbond pit and fissure sealant they don't always have the best home care routines.

That’s why Hebert uses Pulpdent’s Embrace WetBond Pit & Fissure Sealant. Embrace WetBond releases and recharges phosphate and fluoride, and its longevity rivals other leading brands. These qualities are especially important for the pediatric patients that Hebert treats because the fluoride keeps their teeth as strong and healthy as possible, and the sealant stays in place for longer than other similar products.

“This sealant is very user-friendly, and it flows nicely into the grooves,” shared Hebert. “Once I cure it, I find that it doesn't have any bubbles afterwards. It makes a nice seal, and there is notably more longevity with this product.”

Embrace WetBond is the first pit and fissure sealant that bonds to moist teeth, which is a huge benefit for clinicians. “It's always a challenge to keep the environment as dry as possible. We try to keep the teeth dry, but sometimes the cotton roll gets wet, and the tooth gets moist,” noted Hebert. “With Embrace WetBond, if you can’t achieve a 100% dry area and the tooth is a little moist, you know that it's still going to work." In fact, this sealant works even better in the presence of moisture.

Fluoride release can be an added comfort for clinicians, especially in difficult-to-access areas. “Some grooves are so small that you can’t always get your instrument into the area to see if decay is present,” explained Hebert. You never want to place sealant over known decay, but if you can’t access an area to be sure decay isn't starting, you will be more comfortable knowing that the fluoride in Embrace WetBond will help to halt its progress.

Reliability Is Key

Hebert has found that other sealants will pop off over time. “We don’t have that problem with Embrace WetBond,” she said. “Pulpdent’s sealant has greater reliability than the other products I've worked with.”

At Hebert’s practice, they start with sealants on the first molars, typically when they erupt around 6 years old and then again as the second molars erupt. “Usually, the age range for the majority of our sealant patients is from 6 to 14, depending on when molars erupt,” she noted. “We also use the sealant on adults with really great home care and not a high index for decay, but who have one little spot that's starting. We go ahead and put the sealant on just to give them some longevity.”

Hebert has not experienced any issues with microleakage when using Embrace WetBond. And with no drying or bonding agents required, the practice saves time and money. “The less time patients spend in the dental chair, the better, especially with sealants,” she concluded.
