Isolite keeps the working area dry, the tongue and cheek out of the way, and ensures patients remain safe and comfortable throughout the procedure

Dr. Ankur Gupta is always looking for innovative tools and techniques to make dentistry easier for him and more successful for his patients. He wants to go home at the end of the day in a good mood, knowing he delivered the highest quality dentistry—even if a patient was difficult to work on. Isolite makes that possible, which is why the illuminated dental isolation system has been his go-to for bread-and-butter restorative work for the past decade.

With the Isolite, dentistry is less stressful, Dr. Gupta explained. “Wrestling with the patient’s tongue or cheek” or “really struggling to keep things dry” during a procedure raises his anxiety. He doesn’t have to worry about any of that with the Isolite in place. It allows him to focus on his work, and that means patients have a better experience and leave with a better outcome.

“It’s like getting an upgrade,” he said. “If I can do a procedure under an Isolite, it’s almost a guarantee that the outcome will be done better than if I didn’t.”

Makes Life Easier

Isolite not only keeps the tongue and cheek out of the way, it also offers a secondary source of suction beyond what his assistant is doing, Dr. Gupta said. That makes a huge difference, especially when working in difficult-to-access areas. He never has to worry about a patient’s mouth filling up with water.

“When I work on a tooth using Isolite, it’s almost like I’m working on a tooth outside of the mouth,” he said. “All of the normal things that make procedures frustrating—saliva, blood, and tissue—are pushed out of the way. It makes my life easier and my assistant’s life easier.”

It's A No-Brainer

Isolite also helps keep patients safer. “Dentistry is full of tiny little pieces,” Dr. Gupta shared, such as sectional matrix bands, old amalgam, and broken drill bits. There’s always a fear of patients inhaling something, which will almost certainly require a trip to the emergency room. But with Isolite in place, that fear goes away.

“If you’re using Isolite, you have a backstop that won’t allow anything to go down a patient’s throat,” he noted. “That’s really liberating!"

For Dr. Gupta, Isolite simply makes dentistry more enjoyable. “I can’t imagine why a dentist wouldn’t want to make this investment,” he said. “I’ve never met somebody who regretted having an Isolite in their office. Of all the little extras we buy to make our lives easier as dentists, Isolite ranks at the very top.”
