Since its inception more than 75 years ago, ACTEON has maintained a commitment to improving the health and happiness of millions of patients around the globe. This mission is evident through the organization’s continual development of intuitive, interconnected solutions for dental imaging and beyond—products that afford frictionless workflows and empower dental professionals to care for patients more effectively, efficiently, and economically.

Recent years have seen the ACTEON Group enter a new, accelerated phase of innovation, expansion, and digitalization. “The New ACTEON” signifies the start of a multi-year transformation initiative, brought to life thanks to the dedication and passion of more than 800 of the group’s colleagues worldwide. By combining cross-functional resources across 5 innovation centers with external partners and direct input from global customer representatives, ACTEON aims to release more new products and upgrades in the next 3 years than it has in the last 10 years combined.

The new ACTEON remains a human-centric organization, focused on meeting the evolving needs of patients and care providers. It accomplishes this through innovation across 3 core technology platforms: x-ray and optical imaging systems, specialized treatment equipment and instruments, and pharmaceuticals and specialized consumables. Whether through its revolutionary X-MIND and SOPIX product lines, or OPUS, a more recent addition to the portfolio that combines an air polisher and ultrasonic scaler in one powerful device, ACTEON continues to deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve the lives of both patients and practitioners.

X-MIND OPTIMA 3D

The X-MIND Optima 3D is a remarkably compact CBCT unit that embodies ACTEON’s dedication to creating innovative, user-centered solutions. With a “zero-footprint” design, this unit can be easily installed in any dental office, optimizing both space and accessibility. At the heart of the system is a state-of-the-art sensor, which, combined with an extended 90 kV range and a field of view (FOV) up to 17×12 cm, provides exceptional diagnostic image quality in a broad range of clinical applications.

X-MIND Optima 3D’s hardware is complemented by next-generation ACTEON Imaging Suite (AIS) software and RealGUIDE, an AI-powered platform that simplifies implant planning and placement. “Because the software’s so easy and intuitive to use, you build confidence during treatment planning, patient presentations, and surgery,” said Reid Popple, DMD. “It’s a total game changer.”

SOPIX DIGITAL X-RAY SENSORS

Incorporating exclusive Automatic Control Exposure (ACE) technology allows the SOPIX sensor to freeze image acquisition as soon as it receives the required radiation dose to produce an optimal X-ray. This smart innovation ensures consistent image quality, reducing the risk of overexposure and time spent on retakes. While all SOPIX sensors deliver a clear and precise contrasted X-ray, SOPIX 2 features a real resolution of >18 lp/mm, which enhances sensor performance and diagnostic clarity.

SOPIX sensors are also engineered to maximize efficiency and ease of use, as they feature an ergonomic, patient-friendly design with rounded corners, and a tip that simplifies scanning of all morphologies and clinical cases. And as a 100% open system, SOPIX sensors seamlessly integrate with existing technologies and workflows, making them the perfect fit for any practice.

XM-LITE

Designed for fast, user-friendly workflows, XM-Lite is a portable, lightweight dental X-ray system that delivers high-quality images with reduced radiation. While XM-Lite can be an asset in any practice, its portability and simplicity make it perfect for mobile dental settings.

Despite its small size, XM-Lite offers remarkable image resolution with an industry-leading output of 70 kV. This enriches diagnosis and facilitates real-time communication with patients that drives case acceptance. Like all ACTEON products, XM-Lite permits seamless integration and is readily compatible with all dental imaging software and hardware modalities, including sensors, film, and phosphor plates.

C50 INTRAORAL CAMERA

As ACTEON’s most advanced intraoral camera, the C50 is packed with features that support ultra-clear imaging and better patient care. In addition to delivering full HD images, the C50 incorporates autofocus technology, a smart menu, and a convenient 4-in-1 design that lets users switch between 4 different diagnostic vision modes: Daylight, Daylight+, Perio, and Caries Detection. “I love the C50’s versatility,” said Kelly Tanner, PhD, RDH. “It’s an all-in-one solution, and I can get the precise field of vision I want with the simple click of a button. The Caries Detection mode adds another positive component to my workflow, enabling caries detection with fluorescence LED technology.”

Beyond improving diagnostics, the high-resolution images produced by the C50 and included AIS imaging software are excellent tools for communication and case acceptance, providing both patients and clinicians with a clear view of caries, periodontal disease, and other oral conditions. The camera’s embedded drivers also eliminate the hassles of integration and ensure compatibility with current practice configurations.

C20 INTRAORAL CAMERA

With the C20 intraoral camera, clinicians can achieve crystal-clear, full HD imaging at a cost-effective value. Outstanding image resolution and depth of field combine to produce macro, intraoral, tooth, smile, and portrait shots that elevate both diagnosis and patient communication. Other standout features of the C20 include Bright Halo LED illumination, which increases diagnostic clarity by displaying a soft, uniform light around teeth, as well as fog light technology to prevent lens condensation and ensure clear, uninterrupted visuals.

NEWTRON

The Newtron’s perfectly controlled ultrasonic vibrations ensure precise, gentle treatment and a smoother, more comfortable scaling experience. The use of piezo ultrasonic technology and the linear movement of the tips safely and effectively remove calculus, plaque, and biofilm while preserving gingival tissues and enamel. Automatic and continuous power adjustment and real-time power compensation also afford maximum efficiency regardless of the load applied. Other advantages include built-in LED illumination for better visibility, an ergonomic hand-piece designed to be lightweight and made of titanium—reducing operator fatigue—and a unique Color Coding System that intuitively associates each tip color ring with 1 of 4 power ranges.

Along with other members of the Newtron family of piezoelectric power scalers, the Newtron P5 XS B.LED, Newtron P5 B.LED, and Newtron Booster all support a range of more than 60 ultrasonic tips. “This is probably the standout feature for me,” said Brandy Husted, RDH. “Often, especially with piezoelectric scalers, choices and tips are quite limited, whereas Newtron is the only scaler on the market that offers so many tips. In fact, there are 22 tips that are specifically designed for calculus removal.” Newtron tips also are available for use in periodontics, endodontics, surgical endodontics, implant care, and prosthetic dentistry.

PIEZOTOME CUBE

Pairing reliable performance with versatility, Piezotome Cube is a powerful piezoelectrical ultrasonic device for all pre-implant surgeries—extractions, bone surgery, sinus lifts, intralifts, and crown lengthening. Unlike traditional piezo surgical units, which have the reputation for being slow, the Cube gets 60 watts of power at the handpiece—complementing the practitioner’s expertise to enable faster, more accurate, and atraumatic procedures. Precise modulation of ultrasonic frequencies affords effective cutting without compromising soft tissues, while linear piezoelectric vibrations and controlled tip amplitude allow ultra-precise cuts that maximize bone preservation. The device adjusts power in real time based on resistance and optimizes irrigation, with flow delivery that consistently reaches the tip’s end regardless of orientation to control intraosseous temperature.

Minimally invasive treatment with the Piezotome Cube improves care experiences for patients, as it reduces discomfort and the need for analgesics, and results in predictable healing outcomes with less swelling, bleeding, pain, and complications. As Kevin Nail, DDS, affirmed, “[The Piezotome Cube] offers a safe, effective alternative to traditional drilling for surgical tooth extraction.”
