KHUSHBU SHAH PARIKH, DDS
Dr. Shah worked in private practice before joining AHS Family Health Center in 2013. She received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University, Chicago, and obtained her dental degree from University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. She is fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, and Urdu. Her interest in public health and community service was sparked during an abroad program in Guatemala. Dr. Shah is a consultant for Tokuyama.

OMNICHROMA
The OMNICHROMA family of restorative materials provides a single-shade, highly esthetic solution for anterior and posterior restorations
I’ve been practicing at AHS for about 10 years, and our patient population is primarily immigrants and refugees from 55 countries, speaking over 25 languages. I was an immigrant myself, so I absolutely love that I can give back to this community. Many of them have nowhere else to go for dental care. I understand what my patients are going through—many don’t have insurance and they’re worried about putting food on the table vs being able to afford an implant or a veneer.

The OMNICHROMA family of composites helps keep my restorative work affordable and hits all the marks for ideal restorability. With OMNICHROMA, we don’t have to buy multiple shades of composites—we just need 1 material, and it does the job.
I’ll use OMNICHROMA Flow for a small lesion, such as a pit restoration. If I’m trying to build a contact for a Class II, I'll use OMNICHROMA Flow BULK first, and then the packable OMNICHROMA. I use it for both anterior and posterior restorations, but if it’s an anterior, I will typically use OMNICHROMA BLOCKER as well, to provide a lingual wall to the restoration and prevent shade-match interference.
Eliminates Shade-Matching
The No. 1 benefit I have seen is how quickly the shade matches. My patients don’t have time to sit in a dental chair for a lengthy shade-matching process, and OMNICHROMA combines a faster chair time with excellent esthetics. When I look back at my completed restoration with a macro perspective, I find myself thinking, "Where is the restoration I placed?" because the shade match was exceptional.
At recall appointments, I have not noticed issues with marginal integrity, wear, or fractures on my OMNICHROMA restorations. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, patients have been ecstatic with the results and their new smiles.
