In my office, we never look at a cement in terms of how it will affect the bottom line. Instead, we look for a cement that works well and will benefit our patients without causing postoperative sensitivity. It’s also important for us to use a cement that’s uncomplicated, cleans up easily, and offers a reliable, long-lasting cementation of patients’ indirect restorations.
A Strong Bond to Most Substrates
One of the reasons we use TheraCem is because it’s simple to use. It is self-etching, allows for dual tack cure, and delivers an incredibly strong bond to nearly all substrates—from zirconia to metal to resin—in addition to all types of endodontic posts. There’s also no need to etch the tooth prior to cementation, which is a plus for both clinicians and patients, who appreciate a decrease in chair time.
Cleanup is also a cinch, and one of my team’s favorite features of TheraCem. Whether using the snap set, light-cure activation, or normal set, cleaning up excess cement is fast and simple. TheraCem is also easy to see on radiographs and allows me to diagnose patients more quickly.
Unique Features
Another great thing about TheraCem is its versatility. Aside from the fact that it delivers a strong bond to any substrate, it also has continuous calcium and fluoride release, which encourages a higher physical strength than other cements. It transitions from an acidic to an alkaline pH in minutes, offering a better environment for increased compressive strength. TheraCem’s viscosity is thin enough to flow into tooth areas with low film thickness without causing too much cement to overflow at the margins.
No Postop Sensitivity—Guaranteed
I wish I could offer an example of a recent patient in my office who was treated using TheraCem and suffered no postoperative sensitivity, but I’d have to describe every case I’ve ever done using the product. Our patients either rave about their lack of pain and sensitivity post-treatment—as compared to treatment from past dentists—or they don’t mention it at all, and no news is good news. TheraCem continues to be a simple and durable option for luting crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and endodontic posts. It just so happens that what’s good for us is also good for our patients.
