Encore D/C, from Centrix, is a dual-cure, fluoride-containing, core buildup composite that can be used to build up just  coronal cores or to easily bond the post, tooth, and core together. Encore D/C has a non-slumping formula, so no matrix or core forms are required. It can be light activated for 20 seconds to speed up the setting time of this exclusive dual-cure formulation that will continue to a complete cure on its own regardless of the depth and even after seating of the final restoration. Once cured, it cuts like dentin, which reduces ditching. Encore D/C is very strong, and has been demonstrated to have 222 Mpa compressive strength and 110 Mpa flexural strength.

Encore D/C is available in two types of delivery systems: either the MiniMix or the Automix. The MiniMix (0.5 mL unit-dose technology), eliminates waste as well as cross-contamination. It also simplifies the process of delivering Encore D/C directly to the bottom of the post hole, even in second and third molar root canals, with its unique needle tip. Its smaller size is also more comfortable for patients and is easier to maneuver around inside the mouth.

Dental Product Shopper evaluators rated Encore D/C MiniMix as an “excellent” and easy-to-use core composite with enhanced handling, cuttability, and opacity. They also noted that the longer tip allows for better visualization during the placement procedure, which larger application tips prevent. In addition, the dual-cure feature reduces procedure time while ensuring depth of cure.

Encore D/C single-dose kits come with either 12 or 36 cartridges (providing up to 72 core buildups) and either 24 or 72 mixing nozzles, two for each procedure. For more information, click here.
