Astringedent X Hemostatic Solution: For the Most Challenging Cases
In this short video, Dr. Dan Fischer, CEO of Ultradent Products, explains,“We must have agents to address the most challenging cases,” when it comes to patients bleeding in the operatory. That is why Ultradent developed Astringedent X, an aqueous 12.7% iron solution hemostatic agent. Ultradent’s Astringedent X is recommended for heavy capillary bleeding and is used with the Metal Dento-Infusor tip created by Ultradent to quickly form a clot-like substance, making it easy for clinicians to proceed with the procedure.
The aqueous iron solution contains equivalent ferric sulfate and ferric subsulfate for difficult-to-stop, problem bleeding. It is less acidic than competitive iron subsulfate solutions, and gluten free and kosher certified. It fits in with the lifestyles and beliefs of patients from any background.
To use, follow these 4 simple steps:
1. Burnish the hemostatic agents firmly against the sulcus until bleeding stops
2. A blunt, bent cannula with padded “scrub brush” enables infusing and cleaning in the cut sulcus (Metal Dento-Infusor tip)
3. Apply firm air/water spray to removed residual coagulum and test tissue for quality, profound hemostasis. If bleeding continues, repeat infusion technique.
4. After complete hemostasis has been reached, excellent retraction is achieved through the use of Ultrapak knitted cord.
