FluoroDose
Every dental professional knows that preventing caries is key to maintaining good oral health, and that one of the many ways to do so is through fluoride treatment. However, applying fluoride varnish is not always the easiest task. Many varnish brands don’t consider the difficulties of handling the package with a gloved hand, while varnishes that taste unpleasant or clump easily can slow down the process.
Hoping to speed up application and provide patients with an improved experience, hygienist Donna Shewbert tried Centrix’s FluoroDose for a DPS product review, and it is now her fluoride varnish of choice. Packaged for Convenience
For clinicians’ convenience, FluoroDose comes packaged in a 0.3-mL, single-use LolliTray, which includes a bendable Benda Brush for easy varnish mixing and convenient swipe-on application. The LolliTray packaging contains an ergonomic finger rest and an easy-peel lid with a pop-up brush fulcrum that allows the brush to pop up for accessibility. “I liked the brush. It was easy to bend and kept its shape, making application easy,” shared hygienist Deborah Deal, who also called FluoroDose “an easy-to-apply fluoride varnish that patients find acceptable.”
Maximum Dosage Formula
Containing 5% sodium fluoride, the maximum dosage allowed, FluoroDose remains on the tooth for 4 to 6 hours and dries seconds after contact with saliva for ideal fluoride uptake. “I like that FluoroDose is a slow-release formula that stays effective for 4 to 6 hours. It sets quickly and feels smooth,” explained Dr. Jean Creasey. “FluoroDose leads to stress-free application and a great patient experience,” said hygienist Amber Metro-Sanchez, adding that it makes her job easier.
Patient-Pleasing Flavors
FluoroDose is available in 5 flavors—Caramel, Bubble Gum, Mint, Cherry, and Melon. “Everyone loves the flavor; it was a huge plus. Patients also don’t feel like this fluoride varnish left a bad aftertaste or a thick, uneven coating,” shared Shewbert. She continued, “I would recommend this product because of the high rate of patient acceptance to flavor and texture. I love FluoroDose.”
