Panasil: Easy & Accurate

DPS readers rely on the high tear strength and hydrophilicity of Panasil impression materials to create accurate final impressions with ease

At any given moment, there’s likely a dentist, assistant, or hygienist eager to try out a new curing light, scanner, handpiece, or impression material for the very first time. And, it’s even more likely that this new product was purchased to alleviate some sort of challenge. For one Ohio dental office, that challenge was discomfort.

“We started using Panasil mainly because my team wanted an automix delivery system,” said Willoughby Hills, OH, dentist Dr. Brian Jackson, who added that his assistant was developing wrist problems from using the handheld delivery gun. While the Panasil family of final impression materials—specially designed to offer high tear strength, hydrophilic and elastic properties, and resistance to deformation—did prove to be a more ergonomic way to capture impressions for the team at Brian Jackson Dental, its benefits did not end there.

“I believe Panasil's accuracy is excellent,” said Dr. Jackson. “I use a diode laser to create a gingival trough around the tooth prior to taking the impression, so there are little to no bleeding issues. I have very few remakes, and when I do it is usually an issue with the lab, not the impression.”

Service with a Smile Chad Wagener, DDS, MAGD, was introduced to Panasil during a product review several years ago. Since then he's been impressed with how great the material is to work with, as well as the "fantastic" customer service and product knowledge he's received from Kettenbach employees.

"I was having trouble with removable appliances fitting well, so I called Kettenbach and they recommended using the light body wash for a final impression," recalled Dr. Wagener. "Now, my removable appliances fi t great with minimal adjustments. I highly recommend going directly to Kettenbach with any impression issues you're having. They will absolutely find a solution for you."

A Solution for Every Impression

The trio of wash materials in the Panasil family—which come in low, extra low, and medium viscosities—is expertly coordinated with Panasil tray materials to offer precise results with clear margins. The A-silicone-based impression materials provide short intraoral setting times and very high initial hydrophilicity that lasts throughout working time.

"My first experience using Panasil was for fixed restorative cases," said Dr. Wagener. "The shorter set time is fantastic and much more tolerable by patients. To date, I have never had a remake."
