Two next-generation micromotor systems from NSK include modern features that make it easy for clinicians to provide high-quality and efficient treatment

Just as a car engine or smartphone battery can make or break its overall performance, a dental handpiece’s effectiveness greatly depends on the power and reliability of its micromotor. That is why NSK is building on the success of its popular Surgic Pro and NLZ devices with the new Surgic Pro2 surgical micromotor and NLZ Pro integrated electric micromotor system, which can accommodate an additional motor for added treatment efficiency.

Surgic Pro2: Connect to More Comfortable Procedures

The Surgic Pro2 features a variety of upgrades that blend safety, operability, and wireless connectivity. It is available in both optic and nonoptic models, which pair with either the X-SG20L optic handpiece or the SG20 nonoptic handpiece, respectively.

Its wireless connectivity with multiple devices includes a Bluetooth foot control; the option to connect with an Osseo 100+ monitoring device, which measures the implant stability quotient without con-tact; and the option to connect an iPad to the unit for real-time displays of detailed procedural data, including rotation speed and torque range.

Leveraging NSK's proprietary micromotor technology, the Surgic Pro2 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, with a design that moves the center of gravity closer to the head of the handpiece. The unit’s large, high-contrast LCD display panel with high-resolution color LEDs enhances ease of use and visibility, while its quiet and smooth irrigation pump ensures a consistent and steady fl ow of coolant. And in an effort to improve torque value accuracy, the Surgic Pro2 uses NSK’s Advanced Handpiece Calibration function to minimize discrepancies between set torque values and actual handpiece output.

NLZ Pro: Double Up on Efficiency

NLZ Pro offers an ideal blend of power and efficiency packed into a lightweight design that effectively minimizes heat generation. Its control board can easily be built into an existing treatment center or installed into any type of chair without complex wiring or external equipment—saving space and creating a more organized treatment environment.

Users can expand their single-motor NLZ Pro to a dual-motor system for even greater efficiency. This allows for seamless switching between electric attachments during procedures, accommodating a wider range of applications while reducing chair time. For example, clinicians can use the high-speed Ti-Max Z95L for existing crown removal, and then easily switch to the low-speed Ti-Max Z25L for caries removal and tooth preparation. When installing 2 electric attachments using the dual motor, lifting one of them causes Multi Pad2 LCD touchscreen to switch automatically to the motion control screen for that attachment.
