Low-stress flowable composite that can bulk fill up to 4 mm
Considering the different types of restorations and techniques, finding a happy material medium can be difficult. For a Class II restoration, which is the most common direct restoration performed, adaptation to the floor of the proximal box can be an issue. Because the floor of the proximal box is the most vulnerable interface in a Class II restoration, achieving intimate adaptation between the restorative material and the preparation is a necessity.
SureFil SDR flow+ material, from Dentsply Sirona Restorative, is a low-stress, flowable composite that can be bulk filled (4 mm) and cured for faster, easier, and longer-lasting restorations. According to Dr. Paul Bylis, a speaker and lecturer, SureFil SDR flow+ is an integral part of every Class II restoration he performs because “it places predictably and
self-levels as advertised.”
Featuring an easy placement technique with self-leveling handling, this one-of-a-kind composite filling material eliminates steps before curing and provides excellent cavity adaptation.
SureFil SDR flow +’s pre-measured Compula Tip allows clinicians to simply dispense and cure, saving up to 40% in placement time. “Having the Compula Tip is a really nice way to know how much you’ve added, along with the fact that it reduces internal stress on the restoration,” said Dr. Bylis. “Plus, a bonus is that it gives me confidence that I’m doing the very best for my patient,” he added.
Chemically compatible with methacrylate-based bonding agents and composites, SureFil SDR flow+ is radiopaque, so it is easily distinguishable on an x-ray. “When reviewing bite wings, seeing that radiopaque material against the tooth structure is a stress reducer for me and my team,” Dr. Bylis said.
