VOCO
Admira Fusion x-tra for A Highly Predictable Outcome
Single-shade omnichromatic restorative
The following Class II restorative case is a typical example of how using a single-shade, chameleon-like restorative such as Admira Fusion x-tra can easily achieve a highly predictable outcome.
The patient presented with a shadow on one of his bicuspids, so I used a transilluminator to see interproximally before opening up the tooth. The soft tissue on the palatal was high, so I needed to excavate subgingival decay. I used a laser to clean up the soft tissue and coagulate the blood to get clean access and a better viewing field.
Then, I placed a matrix system and selectively etched the enamel to get a better bond to the enamel surface. After applying VOCO’s Futurabond U adhesive and curing, I bulk-filled the prep with Admira Fusion x-tra, an extremely esthetic restorative material with one universal shade and a 4-mm depth of cure. I then contoured and polished the restoration.
By using Admira Fusion x-tra, I was able to bulk-fill using a simplified technique to create an esthetic restoration that is also very strong. I have peace of mind that this patient will have a restoration that will last for years to come.
