A powerful CBCT unit featuring a user-friendly interface and compact design, enhanced with AI-driven capabilities to streamline every step of the implant and restorative workflow
Dr. Vorholt earned his dental degree from The Ohio State University in 2013. After starting a private practice in Columbus, his passion for dental implant surgery grew, leading to a transition to Scottsdale, AZ, in 2019. There, he focused exclusively on implants, engaging in education, teaching various courses, and mentoring numerous dentists through live surgery education. Dr. Vorholt became a notable figure in the field, presenting at the AAID Annual Conference and lecturing nationally on dental implant topics. Returning to private practice in late 2022 as a traveling implantologist in the Greater Phoenix area, he brought his expertise and mentorship to various practices and doctors, offering comprehensive care throughout the valley prior to establishing his new practice, Santa Barbara Dental Implants.
“The software is where ACTEON really shines,” agreed Dr. Vorholt. “RealGUIDE 5.4 combines a powerful diagnostic software with a really sleek user interface. Patients understand what they’re looking at when you’re using the software in front of them, while the backend power of what it can do is very impressive for the clinician. With the new AI tools, it’s even easier than it was before, and it was already the best software out there.”
Simple Operation in a Space-Saving Design
Dr. Vorholt typically 3D prints bone models that he segments out of the CBCT scan and designs and prints surgical guides, as well as temporaries.
“The software connects seamlessly with any intraoral scanner or 3D printer, so it’s very simple to use in my daily workflow,” he added. “The user interface is streamlined and simple to operate, which makes it easy to train new staff members.”
One of the smallest CBCT units on the market, the X-MIND optima 3D features a compact design and “zero footprint” concept that ensures easy integration into most dental practices.
“Space is a hard commodity to come by, especially in California, and the practice I bought did not have an existing unit,” shared Dr. Vorholt. “We actually took down a small storage closet and were able to fit the X-MIND optima 3D in there because it has such a small footprint. Having something that’s more compact but also packs a big punch and can do everything you need it to do is very convenient.”
As clinicians expand their skill sets into sinus lifts or treatment for sleep apnea, they can start to explore the unit’s larger FOVs. “It’s a great machine because it’s easy to get started with it, it’s easy to use, and it’s easy to grow with,” he concluded.
