NLZ Pro: A Powerful Unit that ‘Packs a Serious Punch’

NLZ Pro features a compact, lightweight design that generates less heat without reducing the output of power. Its high performance control board can be easily installed into any type of dental chair without complex wiring or external equipment, which helps save space while also creating an overall more organized treatment environment.

“One of the key advantages of using NLZ Pro is the ability to adjust speed and torque settings for certain procedures,” Dr. Kaminer explained. “For example, when removing decay with round burs at a slow speed, we dial it down to not aggressively remove too much tooth structure. This is also important when we’re polishing composites. But when removing a zirconia crown, we need more power and torque and can dial it up.”

“The unit is extremely easy to operate,” he continued, adding that changing and saving settings using the NLZ Pro's Multi Pad2 LCD touchscreen is “as simple as saving car radio stations.” Multi Pad2 displays large numbers and buttons for enhanced operability, affording even greater ease of use in a treatment setting.

Ensuring Safe, Efficient Treatments

In line with NSK’s commitment to fostering safer treatment environments, NLZ Pro incorporates the company's proprietary Contra-Check Function, which helps identify abnormalities caused by deterioration of the electric attachment or inadequate maintenance before use. This unique feature prevents potential problems from arising while clinicians are delivering patient care.

“The Contra-Check ensures that if your unit has an issue, it will run a test to determine what the issue is,” Dr. Kaminer said. “But if you don’t have an issue, the Contra-Check still checks for all the main parameters and reduces the likelihood of an issue actually occurring.”

Additionally, NLZ Pro has an integrated Anti-Retraction system—effectively alleviating the risk of cross-contamination from waterlines—as well as an Auto Reverse function for safe, efficient endodontic treatment.

"The unit's ability to do reciprocal endodontics is another feature that is very enticing to clinicians performing root canal treatment,” Dr. Kaminer said. NLZ Pro’s Built-In Motor System has a reciprocating function that allows it to work with Dentsply Sirona's WaveOne Gold and Reciproc Blue files. “All in all, NLZ Pro is a great unit,” Dr. Kaminer concluded.
