Christopher T. Pawelek, DDS, doesn’t slow down—and neither does his practice. Nestled in scenic Central New York just north of Syracuse, his spacious office in Cicero houses 8 operatories, 3 full-time hygienists, and a steady flow of patients who benefit from his decades of experience.

“I took 3 weeks off after my residency and haven’t stopped,” he said. “That was 27 years ago.”

Completely Dry—Every Time

As a solo practitioner, Dr. Pawelek is known for his steady work ethic. But his new Maxima Advanced Chamber Sterilizer might just be giving him a run for his money.

Featuring dynamic pulsed air removal for thorough sterilization and a closed-door, vacuum-assisted drying system, the unit boosts efficiency by eliminating excess moisture and ensuring instruments come out completely dry.

“We’ve been very happy with it. It’s the right size, and maintenance is quite easy,” noted Dr. Pawelek, who purchased the unit from his Henry Schein rep several months ago. “So far, it exceeds our expectations and it’s working really well for the practice.”

Easy, Customizable Programming

Part of Henry Schein’s Maxima line of performance handpieces and small equipment—which also includes the powerful Maxima Advanced Ultrasonic Cleaner MA210 and Maxima Turbo Class B Sterilizer—the Maxima Advanced Chamber Sterilizer features an industry-leading lifespan of up to 28,000 cycles.*

A user-friendly color touchscreen simplifies daily operation, while customizable cycle programming fuels flexible, time-efficient sterilization. Multiple quick-cycle options are available, including 30 minutes to sterilize and dry unwrapped loads.

Room for More

Perhaps the feature that Dr. Pawelek and his team are most impressed by is the unit’s large 11-inch chamber with 4 trays, which can accommodate up to 18 pounds of instruments.

“We’re really impressed with the size of the trays,” he said. “Our previous sterilizer had 2 large-sized trays and 2 smaller ones, but this unit has 4 large trays, which is much, much better. We can fit at least a quarter more than what we could in the past.”

Maximize Your Maintenance

With no periodic cleaning cycles needed, the unit offers convenient automatic water filling and draining options, proactive maintenance reminders, and automated digital cycle records data. A single-use distilled water management system ensures fresh water is used for every cycle.

“The Maxima Advanced Chamber Sterilizer reminds you when to add water and when to drain it,” Dr. Pawelek shared. “It’s definitely much easier to maintain than our past units so far.”
