Dr. Samantha Mohan takes on a lot of cosmetic cases, so when she first heard about Tokuyama’s OMNICHROMA universal composite and its ability to match every tooth with 1 shade, she was intrigued. Typically, when building up a large area like a peg lateral with a composite, we have to use different shades or it won’t look natural. With OMNICHROMA, I only use one, and if I’m trying to make it less translucent, I add OMNICHROMA BLOCKER.
I also do a lot of black triangle composites for patients who have spaces between their teeth after orthodontic treatment. When you place composite around the gumline, you want a smooth, seamless finish from the root structure to the tooth. In these cases, I use OMNICHROMA Flow followed by OMNICHROMA with the Bioclear black triangle matrices, and it works really well!
Nothing Compares
In addition to its consistent results in the anterior, with OMNICHROMA, there's less staining, better polishability, and it's the perfect consistency—not too runny or thick—which means you can mold it very easily. OMNICHROMA Flow BULK also holds up extremely well, and I haven’t had any chipping issues. Using these composites has reduced the number of shades I need to carry in my practice.
But the color matching—that’s the biggest benefit. It’s amazing. There’s nothing else like it on the market.
